October Favs.

Hello November! October has most definitely flown by in a flash, however here I still have some fav things from last month.

1. DARK NIGHTS

It's dark early enough that getting in your pyjamas at 6 p.m. somehow seems slightly more acceptable. Cue duvets on the sofa, candles and hot chocolate.

2. ROYAL BLOOD

I bought Toby the new Royal Blood album on vinyl for his birthday at the end of August and this month we have played it over and over again on the record player whilst attempting to build Ikea wardrobes, between going to work and raving at Clubbercise. It's good.

3. QUIET - SUSAN CAIN

I've literally been obsessed with this book about introverts for the whole of this month. Whilst I appreciate and I am fully aware that it is completed biased in favour of introverts, it also is so interesting to learn about myself and see personality traits that I've historically seen as a weakness as actually a great strength. I could talk about this for days - I think I will write a blog post on it. If this sounds interesting to you, you can buy it here.

4. THE PIGEON DETECTIVES

The Pigeon Detectives were one of the first bands I fell in love with growing up and one of the first moves I made from listening to awful chavvy music to more of a taste in music that I can be proud of. I went to see them when I was 16 in Manchester and low and behold, they played in Middlesbrough 10 years later!! Me and Danni from Gingerbread Smiles went to see them at the Middlesbrough Empire and they did not disappoint.

5. AFTERNOON TEA

It's my lovely Mam's birthday in October so what better way to celebrate than afternoon tea! We opted to go to Hardwick Hall this year as we have been to Wynyard Hall a lot now. The food was definitely better but the service unfortunately was a bit slow!

6. WEDDING FAIRS

If you didn't already know, I'm getting married in 8 months. All the big things are booked (except a band, help?!) so now I'm just enjoying thinking about the smaller things such as decoration and invites. I want to do a lot of this stuff myself so I've been going to lots of wedding fairs with my lovely Mother in Law to be to get some inspiration. So far we have been to Hardwick Hall, Redworth Hall and Guisborough Hall. The last two were definitely the best and I've got some amazing invite inspiration from them!

What have you been up to in October?

Would love to chat - leave a comment.

Chesters by the river review

I think I have issues as to how much I love the Lakes.

Wedding Update | Save the Dates.

save the date invites

After getting engaged in Lake Garda in June last year (see soppy post about it here) and booking our wedding for July 2018, it was time to come up with some sort of guest list and send save the dates out. Actually, that's stretching the truth a bit - we came up with a guest list but it's taking me ages to hand all the save the dates out - half are still sat on my kitchen counter top. My bad, promise you're invited really friend.

A Home Decor Haul From Wayfair.

wayfarer decking post

A while ago now, I collaborated with Wayfair with my DIY Decking post. In return for me allowing them to use the content on their website, they treated me to a voucher to spend on a home decor haul so I th0ught I would show you what I bought.
