Bohemian Bedroom Inspiration.

Ok, so we've finally saved up some pennies and got round to decorating our spare bedroom, or should I say planning to decorate! This room is currently home to the ironing board, wash basket and more often that not, copious amounts of ironing just waiting for who gives in to the stand off first.
It will still host these things once decorated (although hopefully hidden away) but will be an actual bedroom for people to stay over after parties etc.

The decor we've chosen so far for the rest of the house is a mixture between modern and industrial, incorporating lots of neutral, earthy colours. For the spare room, I wanted something a bit different, so the plan is.. Bohemian inspired.

Once the theme was sorted, it was time to scour Pinterest for ideas. My 'Spare Bedroom Inspiration' board is quickly filling up and looks amazing, so I thought I'd share some of my inspo with you here - enjoy!

1. Cushions: I love the bright colours on these cushions and the geometrical patterns. The mix of different complimentary and contrasting colours is something I want to recreate for our room. (Photo credit: Babasouk.ca

2. Wood and plants: Normally I love to paint wooden furniture funky colours but on this occasion I'm drawn to the plain wood on these drawers. This combined with some house plants would look good in our room. I'm going to try to make some hanging planters to decorate the room too - watch this space... (Photo credit: Apartmenttherapy.com

3. Dream Catcher: One of the things I'm most excited about for this room revamp is to put a dream catcher centre stage above the bed. My plan is to make this myself with lots of different ribbons and pieces of material. (Photo credit: Etsy.com

4. Bedding and prints: I need some crisp white bedding with a boho inspired pattern on like the one in this picture to be one of the main features in the room. I'm thinking a blue pattern - can anyone help with where I can buy this from?! Also, I love, love, love all of the simple, black and white prints on the wall in this room - need to pay a little visit to Etsy to purchase some! (Photo credit: dailydreamdecor.com)

5. Tapestry: Do I dare hang a tapestry from the wall with a boho pattern on?! Or is that too OTT?! I seen loads of these at Camden Market when we visited a few years ago but at the time didn't have any where to put one. (Photo credit: decoholic.org)

6. Industrial light: Even when planning a boho inspired room, I still can't fully tear myself away from industrial decor. I love this simple light fitting with the industrial cage around the bulb and the black wire just hanging against the white walled backdrop. (Photo credit: urbanoutfitters.com)

7. Painted crates: Not particularly 'boho-esque' however I do have three wooden crates that would look good painted up and put in our spare room - just need to decide what colour to paint them! (Photo credit: blog.soulmakes.com)

8.  Mirrors: These are perhaps a bit more vintage than bohemian but I think they will look good with the decor I have in mind so far. I love that there are no frames around the mirrors and that the edges are a little bit worn! Maybe a trip to Crimple Hall will find me some of these mirrors! (Photo credit: blog.freepeople.com)

9. Dream Catcher: Yet another beautiful dream catcher! (Photo credit: etsy.com)

10. Curtains: I love these light weight curtains and the way they are tied into a knot at the bottom gives them a quirky twist - a final touch to my new spare bedroom! (Photo credit: portlandfresh.com)

What do you think?!
